BAI performed a complete gut of a portion of the building, totaling 15,500 SF which was done in multiple phasing sequences. BAI built interior labor/birthing suites, bathrooms, reception stations, exam, procedure and surgical Rooms, with new existing MEP’s tie ins. This project posed a coordination challenge with having to keep all of the surrounding areas of BAI’s “work area” of the hospital and floor below up and running, in order to facilitate all of the MEP’s installation. The hospital’s phasing and greater than normal accelerated time line for delivery for (SSH) was another challenge that BAI had to endure. The special medical equipment and devices have been tied into the existing building’s 24/7 power system (SSH). The facility was also built in accordance to DPH standards in which DPH approval was required prior to (SSH) being able to see medical patients.
